Dobbs Thomas Junior "Red" Dobbs, 65, of Danielsville, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at his residence. A native of Madison County, Mr. Dobbs was born April 23, 1936, a son of the late J.T. and Hulda Burnett Dobbs. He was retired from Harmony Grove Mill and was a member of Galilee Fire Baptized Holiness Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Galilee Fire Baptized Holiness Church with the Revs. Larry Dyer and Bill Preskitt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Dobbs is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Meadows Dobbs, Danielsville; two sons, David Dobbs, Royston, and John Dobbs, Danielsville; two daughters, Marie Orr, Gray Court, S.C., and Ann Scherer, Bogart; one brother, Howard Dobbs, Commerce; three sisters, Bernice Compton and Annette Thomas, both of Comer, and Lula Hart, Royston; and seven grandchildren. Cauthen William Jones Cauthen, 78, of Nicholson, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Crystle Springs Nursing Center. Born August 15, 1922, Mr. Cauthen was a native of Lancaster, S.C. He was a son of the late Walter A. and Pearl McMurray Cauthen. Mr. Cauthen worked as a shoe repairer and was a member of Westside Baptist Church, Lancaster, S.C. He was preceded in death by a son, William A. Cauthen. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Community Chapel, Jefferson, with the Rev. Charles Hardy officiating. Burial was in Maxwell Cemetery, Nicholson. Mr. Cauthen is survived by his wife, Vador Cauthen, Nicholson; three sons, Charles C. Cauthen, Nicholson, Joey M. Cauthen, Union, S.C., and Jimmy W. Cauthen, Spartanburg, S.C.; three daughters, Elizabeth G. Blalock, Union, S.C., Pamela Pressley, Nicholson, and Mary A. Hadden, Danielsville; two sisters, Louise Powell and Margie Fenton, both of Lancaster, S.C.; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Prickett Mrs. Laverne Wilson Prickett, 66, of Carnesville, sister of Patsy Macomson, Hull, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at her residence. Born May 18, 1934, in Fair Play, S.C., Mrs. Prickett was a daughter of Mary Sosby Wilson, Eastanollee, and the late Verner Wilson Sr. She married E. Brantley Prickett Sr. on March 31, 1961, and they lived at their present home for 40 years. Mrs. Prickett was a longtime employee of Georgia Sportswear and was retired from Platoon Uniforms as a supervisor. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Prickett was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wilson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Cross Roads Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Finger, Michael Bell and Alton Burrell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Jason Prickett, Terry Phipps, Joe Wilson, John Wilson, Wayne Wilson, Verner Wilson Jr., Mickel Prickett and Donovan Prickett served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. In addition to her mother and husband, Mrs. Prickett is survived by one daughter, Kay Phipps, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Tony Prickett, Eastanollee, and Richard Prickett, Carnesville; one step-son, E. Brantley Prickett Jr., Carnesville; five sisters, Mrs. Macomson, Martha Owens, Lavonia, Virginia Kesler, Toccoa, Sarah Babson, Greer, S.C., and Katherine Wallace, Hartsville, S.C.; four brothers, John Wilson, Carnesville, Joe Wilson, Crawford, Wayne Wilson, Toccoa, and Verner Wilson Jr., Eastanollee; two grandsons, four step-grandchildren, two great-grandsons and five step-great-grandchildren. Johnson, 88, of Athens, died Thursday, April 26, 2001. Born in Madison County, Mr. Johnson was a son of the late Grover and Ola Thompson Johnson. He had lived in the Athens area all of his life and was retired from McGregor Printing Company. Mr. Johnson was a member of Hull Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Kenneth Wood, Robert Wood, Jerry Williams, Lynn Hardman, Titus Brown and Mark Cronic served as pallbearers. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Mildred Wood Johnson, Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Vickey Johnson, Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Floyd Green, Hull; sister, Annelle McCurley, Augusta; five grandchildren and one great-grandson. Born in Vance County, N.C., Mr. Rooker was a son of the late William Thomas and Grace Hughes Rooker. He was retired from Northeast Sales as an auto technician and had also worked for Brack Rowe for years. Mr. Rooker was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 30, in the chapel of Brown's Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. David Strickland officiating. Mr. Rooker is survived by his wife, Barbara Hancock Rooker; two sons, William Clay Rooker, Bowman, and Mickey Glenn Rooker, Danielsville; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Marable, 86, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Marable was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth McCarty Brooks. She was a retired supervisor with Thomas Textiles and was a member of Forest Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Marable was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Jordan Marable. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Shelnutt, Athens, and Betty Morrison, Colbert; one son, Neal Marable, Colbert; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Loudermilk Sidney Jacob Loudermilk, 98, of Hull, died Sunday, April 29, 2001. Born in Habersham County, Mr. Loudermilk was a son of the late Alley and Ida Harper Loudermilk. He had lived most of his life in Habersham County, where he owned and operated S.J. Loudermilk's Grocery and attended Welcome Home Baptist Church. He had lived in Hull for the past five years. Mr. Loudermilk was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Long Loudermilk. Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Madison Chapel. Survivors include one son, Sidney L. Loudermilk, Hull; three daughters, Wilma L. Lewallyn, Mt. Airy, Virginia Brock, Baldwin, and Thelma Hinton, Lincoln, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
