Lamb Mrs. Eva Lou Tiller Fitzpatrick Lamb, 89, of Carnesville, died Thursday, December 28, 2000, at Cobb Health Care Center, Comer. Mrs. Lamb was born May 9, 1911, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Eddie Lee and Lillie Mae Vaughn Tiller. Mrs. Lamb had worked as a switchboard operator with Saint Joseph's Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a member of Ila Baptist Church. Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph G. Fitzpatrick, her second husband, D.T. Lamb, and a sister, Lucy Lester. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 30, at Ila Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens. Survivors include one daughter, Faye Hopson, Afton, Tenn.; four sons, Donald Fitzpatrick, Sanford, N.C., Edward Y. Fitzpatrick, Maryville, Tenn., Robert M. "Bob" Fitzpatrick, Carnesville, and Jimmy R. Smith James Cody Smith, 77, of Athens, died Monday, January 1, 2001. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Smith was a son of the late Cody Keyes and Maude Mathews Smith. He retired from Hulme Tool Co., Elberton, after 34 years of service, and was a member of Carlton Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 3, at Carlton Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug Ivey and Marshall Tribble officiating. Burial was in the Carlton Cemetery. Blayne Smith, Ricky Drew, Derek Dye, Shane Smith, Marshall King and Donald Boswell served as pallbearers. Members of the Loyalty Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Imogene Smith; one daughter, Linda Gaulding, Colbert; two sisters, Anna Laura Cooper and Mauline Drew, both of Carlton; two brothers, Lester T. Smith and G. Mr. Stephens was a member of Oconee Heights Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Spratlin Stephens. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 2, 2001, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Tom Lang officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Jones Robert Harold "Bob" Jones, 77, of Comer, formerly of Atlanta, died Monday, January 1, 2001. Mr. Jones was a son of the late Robert Daniel and Ruby Ethel Pittman Jones. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was retired from Link Belt-FMC, Atlanta. Mr. Jones was a longtime deacon of Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church, Atlanta, and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Lakewood. Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 3, in Crestlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Harold Proctor officiating. McCay Mrs. Doris Sewell McCay, 84, of Ila, died Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at her residence. Mrs. McCay was born August 13, 1916, in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Julius Lee Sewell and the late Frances Merrle Brown Sewell. She was a homemaker and was a member of Bold Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. McCay was preceded in death by a brother, Vance Sewell. Mr. Dewaters was born May 15, 1933, in Staten Island, N.Y., a son of the late Abram and Rose Mooney Dewaters. He had been employed as a salesman. Mr. Bray is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Wuske Bray; three daughters, Mary Ellen Bruce Montgomery, Stockbridge, Juliann Duncan, Seagrove Beach, Fla., and Cathy Wilkerson, McDonough; three granddaughters, one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
