Hanley Mrs. Stephanie Stoyle Hanley, 37, of Hull, died Monday, October 1, 2001. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Hanley was a daughter of the late Gerald and Elmo Graham Stoyle. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County and was a member of Liberty Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Wendell Hanley and Mike Canada officiating. Burial will be in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. David Fields, Wade Fields, John Eades, Grant Gillespie, Randy Hanley and Ben Hanley will serve as pallbearers. Shaw Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Johnson Shaw, 82, of Savannah, formerly of Elberton, died Tuesday, September 25, 2001. A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mrs. Shaw was a daughter of the late Eligh Harold Bryant and Bertha Estell Smith Bryant. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Johnson, and second husband, Julian Holcomb Shaw, and by a son, Charles W. Johnson. Mrs. Shaw was a homemaker and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, September 27, at Concord United Methodist Church with the Rev. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Breighner was a daughter of Louise Gary Fambro and the late William Neal Mercer. She had been employed as a lunchroom attendant with Clarke Central High School. Mrs. Breighner was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Douglas Breighner. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, in Athens Memory Gardens with the Rev. Sheridan John Chalmus Sheridan, 68, of Florida, died Thursday, September 27, 2001, in a Florida hospital. A native of Banks County, Mr. Sheridan had lived in Florida for the past 30 years. He was a son of the late Howard Sheridan and the late Bessie Kimbrell Sheridan. Mr. Sheridan was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 30, in the chapel of Williams White Columns Funeral Home, Milledgeville. Burial was in the Georgia Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Milledgeville. Eugene Pettyjohn, 87, of Hull, died Sunday, September 30, 2001. A native of Walker County, Mr. Pettyjohn was a son of the late William Ephrim and Cora Ethel Strickland Pettyjohn. He was the husband of the late Nell White Pettyjohn. A resident of the area since 1932, the Rev. Pettyjohn was ordained as a minister at East Athens Baptist Church on June 12, 1949. He served as pastor at a number of Baptist churches, including Beaverdam, Moons Grove, Meadow for 21 years, where he was currently a member, and retired from Sandy Cross. The Rev. Pettyjohn also served as associate pastor at a number of area churches, including Beech Haven. Mr. Pettyjohn was a retired mail carrier, having retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1969, with 32 years of service. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Revs. Joe Dooley and Calvin Coile officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Atkinson Mrs. Eleanor Joyce Griffin Atkinson, 63, of Royston, died Sunday, September 30, 2001, at Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston. Mrs. Atkinson was born in Hart County on April 19, 1938. She was a daughter of the late Hoyt and Nola Vickery Griffin. Mrs. Atkinson was a retired nurse, formerly employed with Ty Cobb Health Care, Dr. Stewart Brown's Clinic and Royston Manufacturing. She was a member of Franklin Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Haley was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy Anglin, and a granddaughter, Kelly Allen. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 30, at Macedonia Holiness Church with the Rev.
