Cleghorne Mitchell David Cleghorne, 65, of Danielsville, died Sunday, April 1, 2001. Mr. Cleghorne was born in Madison County, a son of the late Lester Mitchell Cleghorne and Seney Patton Cleghorne. He was retired from Alps Tire & Service, with 33 years of service, and was of the Baptist denomination. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Burial was in Colbert Cemetery. Sam Cleghorne, Tom Cleghorne, Mike Cleghorne, Billy Cleghorne, Jeff Dillard and Gerald Cleghorne served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were John Cleghorne, Allen Collins, Henry Smith, Scott Cleghorne, Matt Cleghorne, Ryan Cleghorne and Mike Cleghorne. Mr. Cleghorne is survived by his wife, Jimmie Patterson Cleghorne; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jeff Dillard, Danielsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Theresa Cleghorne, Comer, Tom and Pam Cleghorne, Athens, Mike and Kay Cleghorne, Danielsville, and Billy and Vicki Cleghorne, Loganville; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Roy Perry, Taylors, S.C.; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Collis Patterson; seven grandchildren, Scott, Matt, Ryan, Samantha, Katrina and Kristalyn Cleghorne and Brandy Cash; and one great-grandchild, Dakota Cash. McElreath Lloyd Darrell McElreath, 46, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001. Mr. McElreath was born April 19, 1954, a son of the late Robert Hoyle and Geraldine Sexton McElreath. He was a member of Community Baptist Church. Mr. McElreath was preceded in death by a brother, Robert D. McElreath. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, at Community Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Flanagan, 78, of Hull, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001. A native of Tiger, Mrs. Flanagan was a daughter of the late Jarvis and Cleo Shed. She worked for Athens Community Council on Aging for a number of years and was a member of Sonlight Baptist Church. Mrs. Flanagan was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Flanagan. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, with Dr. Buhl Cummings and the Rev. Dan Corbett officiating. Boren Mrs. Irene Katie Boren, 82, of Athens, died Saturday, March 31, 2001. Mrs. Boren was born September 11, 1918, in Georgia. She was a daughter of the late Mac C. and Bertha Louise Murphy Boren. Martin James Melvin Martin, of Hull, died Thursday, March 29, 2001. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Martin was a son of the late J.C. and Avis Carter Martin. He was retired from Westinghouse and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Martin. Sartain Samuel Lee Sartain, 74, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001. A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, Mr. Sartain was a son of the late and Samuel Lee Sartain Sr. and Ina Mae Martin. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and had worked as a building contractor. He was a son of the late Marion and Mildred Holman Wright. Mr. Wright was self-employed in landscaping and was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church, Jefferson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Cave Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Blalock officiating. Burial was in the Center Grove Baptist Church cemetery, Pendergrass. Mr. Pittman was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in the chapel of Hamby Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Ashworth officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
