Williams Miss Ollie Mae Williams, 91, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, August 28, 2001. A native of Madison County, Miss Williams was a daughter of the late James B. and Lula Carlton McGinnis Williams. Miss Williams was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, a former member of Rogers Baptist Church and she prepared the fresh floral arrangements for Danielsville Baptist Church every Sunday for the past 15 years. As a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky., she developed the first church library and was the first certified librarian of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. She was the Education Librarian at the Lovejoy Library at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Ill. Miss Williams graduated as Valedictorian of Ila High School, class of 1929. She was also a 1932 graduate of the University of Georgia, with a AB Degree, a 1942 graduate of Emory University, with a AB in Library Science Degree, and a 1964 graduate of Southern Illinois University, with a Master of Science in education and counseling. Miss Williams was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Alpha Chapter in 1933, was a Kappa Delta Pi at the University of Georgia, received many honors and was published in the field of Library Science. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys Thompson, Flora Bramlett, Madie Minish and Imogene Smith, and four brothers, Garland Williams, Howard Williams, Dennis Williams and R.J. Williams. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Mike Hudmon and Ed Stoyle officiating. Burial was in Chandler Cemetery. Music was provided by Miss Williams' great-niece, Erica Broadnax. Nephews served as pallbearers. Survivors include one sister, Mattie Luree Williams, Danielsville; several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews. Worley Gregory Dean "Greg" Worley, 36, of Royston, died Tuesday, September 4, 2001, at Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston. Mr. Worley was born in Franklin County on April 12, 1965, a son of the late Bobby Dean Worley, Athens, and Sandra Joy Rousey Worley, Royston. He was employed as a carpenter in the construction business. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 6, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. In addition to his parents, Mr. Worley is survived by his wife, Teresa Lockman Worley; three sons, Josh Worley, Comer, and Matthew Worley and Justin Worley, both of Commerce; one sister, Lisa Worley, Royston; and grandmother, Clara Rousey, Royston. The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Carter Silas Lindsey Carter, 90, of Winterville, died Monday, August 27, 2001. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Carter was a son of the late Thomas McKinley and Ella Willard Carter. He was retired from the University of Georgia Agriculture Department, with 39 years of service, and received the "Employee of the Year" award in 1976. Mr. Carter was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon Emeritus, and was a member of the Pope Spratlin Sunday School Class. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 30, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with Drs. Stan Annandale and Rick Standard officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Edwin Fleeman, Elliott Williams, Heyward Sloan, Ron Mize, Homer Hancock and J.B. Giles served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Pope Spratlin Sunday School Class and Deacons of the Winterville First Baptist Church. Campbell Paul Callaway Campbell, 89, of Danielsville, died Friday, August 31, 2001. A native of Madison County, Mr. Campbell was a son of the late Asa C. Campbell and Lucy McCannon Campbell. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was retired from Gulf Oil Company of Athens. Mr. Campbell was a member of Danielsville United Methodist Church for the past 29 years and was a 50-year Mason of the Masonic Lodge Post 348. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Mike McLemore officiating. Burial was in Old Danielsville Cemetery. Masons of the Danielsville Masonic Lodge served as pallbearers. Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Merle Medders Campbell; one daughter, Nancy Campbell Corley, Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Phillip A. Brown Thomas Jefferson "Tommy" Brown, 58, of Carlton, died Sunday, September 2, 2001. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Brown was a son of the late George Brown and Helen Grubbs Brown Dowis. He was the owner and operator of Dixie Sandblast and was a member of Doves Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was also a member of the Elbert County Country Club. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Seymour, and Glenda Brown. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, at Doves Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Marshall Tribble and the Revs. Douglas M. Ivey and Jack Gatlin officiating. Mr. Anthony was a graduate of Benton High School and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a retired teacher with the Commerce City School System, where he taught industrial arts and history. Mr. Anthony was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a son of the late Jess and Clemmie Anderson Bell. Mr. Bell was a veteran of the Korean War and was retired from BellSouth, where he worked as a cable splicer. He was a member of Webbs Creek Baptist Church. Miss Chandler was born February 5, 1920, in Jackson County, to the late Berry Jim "Bud" Chandler and Grace Hix Chandler. She was of the Baptist faith and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 1, in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce, with the Rev. Donald Wilson and nephew Steve Allen officiating. Survivors include six nephews, Jimmy Allen, Larry Allen, Nathan Allen and Steve Allen, all of Anderson, S.C., and Wayne Chandler, Buford, and Michael Drake, Athens; and five nieces, Mary Jean Allen and Barbara Ham, both of Anderson, S.C., Carol Rikard, Greenwood, S.C., Brenda Duncan, Danielsville, and Patricia Towe, Athens.
