A native of Madison County, Mr. Cleghorne was a son of the late Lester Mitchell Cleghorne and Seney Patton Cleghorne. He was retired from Alps Tire and Service with 33 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Patterson Cleghorne; his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Collis Patterson; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jeff Dillard, Danielsville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Theresa Cleghorne, Comer; Tom and Pam Cleghorne, Athens; Mike and Kay Cleghorne, Danielsville; and Billy and Vicki Cleghorne, Loganville; a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Roy Perry, Taylors, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Scott, Matt, Ryan, Samantha, Katrina and Kristalyn Cleghorne and Brandy Cash; and a great-grandchild, Dakota Cash. Pallbearers will be Sam Cleghorne, Tom Cleghorne, Mike Cleghorne, Billy Cleghorne, Jeff Dillard and Gerald Cleghorne. Honorary pallbearers will be John Cleghorne, Allen Collins, Henry Smith, Scott Cleghorne, Matt Cleghorne, Ryan Cleghorne and Mike Cleghorne. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today at Brown's Funeral Home, Danielsville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
