Milton E. Bagwell Danielsville The Rev. Milton E. Bagwell, 58, of 2277 Georgia Highway 98 West died Thursday, March 15, 2001. A native of Madison County, Mr. Bagwell was a son of the late Willie Ernest and Hattie Ruth Alford Bagwell. He was employed by the University of Georgia Public Safety Division and was retired from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department as lieutenant commander of services division and had worked in the homicide division. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a graduate of the University of Georgia and of the Georgia Bible Institute, where he received a seminary degree. He served Hannah's Creek and Bethel M. Baptist churches, both in Madison County, Rice Creek Baptist Church, Franklin County, and Faith Baptist Church, Elbert County. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan, Ray Jenkins, Barry Black and Don Mulkey officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Kellum Bagwell; a daughter, Jackie Griffeth, Danielsville; a son, the Rev. David L. Bagwell, Royston; two sisters, Louise Smith, Danielsville, and Dessie Lee Jarrard, Jefferson; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Faith Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons from former pastorates, police officers and court officials. Memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Frances Brown, P.O. Box 243, Bowman, GA 30624. The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today at Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston.
