WALKER - mott@cetlink.net 21 February 2001 ***************************************************************** Athens Daily News, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001 Richard Howard Brown, 78, of 1094 Brewers Bridge Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001. A native of Madison County, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Noah Milford Brown and Janie Sorrells Brown. He was a member of Vineyard Creek Baptist Church and was a retired farmer and granite polisher. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served in the European Theater. Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Liberty Congregational Church with the Revs. Paul Brown, Andy Peavy and Chris Conner officiating. Survivors include his wife, Emma Drake Brown; a daughter, Janice B. Tasi, Bowman; two sons, Noah M. Brown, Lincolnton, and Ricky Joe Brown, Elberton; two grandchildren, raised in the home, Tina Bruce and Richard Bruce, both of Elberton; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home.
