Mr. Haggard was a native of Madison County and the son of the late Samuel Gray and Mattie Jane Lord Haggard. He was a retired farmer and a member of Rogers Baptist Church. He was the husband of the late Geneva Williams Haggard and preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Hardman. Funeral services will be Monday, March 12 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Carlton Peters and Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating. Interment in Union Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy C. and Beth P. Haggard of Athens; son-in-law, David Hardman, Ila; grandson and fiance, Jeff T. Barrett and Tanya Leach, Ila; grandson, James W. Barrett, Ila; granddaughters, Caitlin and Mackenzie Haggard of Athens; brother, Mell Haggard, Hull. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7-9 p.m. Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, has charge of arrangements.
