Swindle Commerce Tom Watson Swindle, 87, of 8309 Georgia Highway 98 died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001. A native of Madison County, Mr. Swindle was a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Swindle. He was retired from Harmony Grove Textiles after 40 years and was a member of Blacks Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was a member of John H. Jones Masonic Lodge 348, Danielsville. Services will be at 2 p.m. today Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Albert Vaughn and Douglas Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Ila Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lou Haggard Swindle; a son, Leon Swindle, Gainesville; four sisters, Hedy King and Lurene Dora, both of Florida, Blanche Swindle, Gainesville, and Henrietta Kellum, Commerce; a brother, Ford Swindle, Fayetteville; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Billy Culbertson, Junior Shields, Greg Singleton, Donald Seagraves, Pat Seagraves and Myron Seagraves.
