A native of Fulton County, Mr. Roberts was a son of the late Tommy and Mazie Philips Roberts. He was a retired metal worker and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Roberts was a member of Community Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Community Baptist Church with the Revs. Phil Parks and George Pate officiating. Free, 97, of Hull, died Sunday, April 7, 2002. Born in Hall County, Mrs. Free was a daughter of the late Riley and Minnie Pinson Maxwell. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Free was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, and had taught Sunday School for many years at Cool Springs Baptist Church, Gainesville, prior to coming to the Athens area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Free. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Prince Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. She was retired from Textile Manufacturing and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Eberhart was preceded in death by her children, Donald Eberhart, Gene Eberhart and Sara E. Day.
