Born in Jackson County, Mr. Dalton was a son of the late Fred Dalton and Gainell Hicks Huntsinger. He was a retired transmission specialist with Brackrowe Chevrolet in Athens. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 9, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Billy Fowler officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Duncan, 75, of Carlton, formerly of Cham-blee, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002. Mr. Duncan was retired from General Motors, Doraville, with 33 years of service, and was active in the UAW, Local #10. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Funeral services were held Friday, November 8, in the chapel of Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, with the Rev. Vernon L. Coolidge officiating. Burial was in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. Survivors include four sons, Jack T. Duncan, Woodstock, Alfred Joseph Duncan, Carlton, Dennis D. Duncan, Hampton, and Mark A. Born in Franklin County on July 4, 1940, Mr. Phillips was a son of the late Dilliard Franklin and Frances Mozelle James Phillips. He was a retired electrician. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by two brothers, James Douglas Phillips and Belton R. Phillips, and a sister, Genomie Patrick. Scroggs S.D. Scroggs, 83, of Cornelia, died Thursday, November 7, 2002, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville. Mr. Scroggs was born July 31, 1919, in Habersham County. He was a son of the late Samuel Damascus Sr. and Della Martin Scroggs. Mr. Scroggs was retired as owner and operator of Scroggs Tire Company and was a farmer. He was also retired from the Habersham County School System as a bus driver, with 28 years of service. Mr. Scroggs was a member of Soque Wheelers Square Dancers, the Sheriff’s Posse, and enjoyed camping and traveling. He was also a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and the Caleb’s Clan Sunday School Class. Mr. Scroggs was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Scroggs, three brothers, Earl Scroggs, Ray Scroggs and Howard Scroggs, and two sisters, Blanche Stephens and Ola Belle Herrin Hallford. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 8, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Revs. Clyde Garrison and Terry Rice officiating. Bassett George Lee Bassett, 51, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at his home. Mr. Bassett was born in Greenville, S.C., on July 16, 1951. He was a son of the late James (Shorty) and Ruby Pauline Hunsinger Bassett. Mr. Bassett was a brick mason and a member of Calvary Temple Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Edward Bassett and Larry Gene Bassett. Mrs. Roberts was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 16, 1944, the daughter of Authur George Swensen, Royston, and the late Olga Korick Swensen. She was a retired nurse and of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Alexander English. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 8, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with Father Terence Kane officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston.
