Nancy S. Meadows
Mrs. Nancy S. Meadows, 56, of Dan-ielsville, died Thursday, January 10, 2002, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Meadows was born June 2, 1945, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late Roy and Annie Sue Bridges Hill.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Donald Wilson and Tim Garrett officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Meadows is survived by her husband, James Meadows, Danielsville; son and daughter-in-law, William and Kathryn Booth, Commerce; sons, Clifford Paul Booth, Commerce, and James Mitchell Meadows and Dennis Michael Meadows, both of Danielsville; brothers, Leroy Hill and Paul Donald Hill, both of Danielsville, and Ralph Hill, Athens; and four grandchildren.
Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Clyde W. Watson
Clyde Wallace Watson, 83, of Commerce, died Monday, January 14, 2002, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce.
Mr. Watson was the son of the late John and Effie Berrong Watson. He was born in Madison County on July 7, 1918.
Mr. Watson was retired from Commerce Sportswear and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 16, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Carlton Peters and Henry Webb officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Leata Mae Bennett Watson, Commerce; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Ray Jones and Karen and Tony Davis, all of Commerce; and five grandchildren, Nicole Davis, Shae Davis, Carrie Savage, Tobie Jones and Tate Jones, all of Commerce.
Little-Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jean Kimbrel
Mrs. Jean Kimbrel, 60, of Hoschton, died Tuesday, January 15, 2002.
Mrs. Kimbrel was originally from Jackson County and was retired from Gwinnett County Public Utilities. 
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Aaron W. Kimbrel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 17, at Wages Lawrenceville Chapel of Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, with the Rev. Greg Banks officiating. Burial will be in Gwinnett Memorial Park.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Elizabeth Holland, Hoschton; brothers and sisters, Martha Jo White, Dry Pond, Lois Fabris, Chuck Ayers and Wanda Haggard, all of Danielsville, Buddy Ayers and Steve Ayers, both of Commerce, Judy Kelly, Carnesville, and Christie Sosebee, Lilburn; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family was to have received friends from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ludie C. Haley Jr.
Ludie C. Haley Jr., 89, of Greenville, S.C., formerly of Bowman, died Friday, January 11, 2002, at Greenville Place, Greenville, S.C.
Mr. Haley was born in Madison County on April 8, 1912, a son of the late Ludie C. Haley Sr. and the late Mattie Hart Haley. 
He was a retired heavy equipment operator, employed with Madison County, and sold produce. He was of the Holiness faith.
Mr. Haley was preceded in death by his wife, Elda Kathleen Kiser Haley, a great-grandson, Brian Teasley, and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 13, in Danielsville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. 
Survivors include three daughters, Evora Powell, Hartwell, Blenda Kendall, Greer, S.C., and Jeanette Golem, Greenville, S.C.; one brother, James Haley, Crawford; four sisters, Gladys Scoggins, Colbert, Willie Blanche Sims and Leola Rousey, both of Ila, and Frances Horne, Danielsville; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Fern K. Dabolt
Mrs. Fern K. Dabolt, 90, died Thursday, January 10, 2002, at her home in Danielsville.
Mrs. Dabolt was a member of Sardinia Methodist Church, the Retired Teachers Association and Amerily’s Rebecca Lodge, Chaffee, N.Y. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Dabolt was preceded in death by her husband, Reuhl W. Dabolt, infant son David, son Richard R., and a grandson, Kenneth G. Dabolt.
Funeral arrangements were with W. S. Davis Funeral Home, Arcade, N.Y., with burial in Sardinia Rural Cemetery, New York.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter K. and Jean Dabolt, Danielsville, and Wesley A. and Brenda Dabolt, Sardinia N.Y.; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Howard S. Maxwell
Howard S. Maxwell, 78, of Royston, died Monday, January 14, 2002, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Maxwell was born in Franklin County on August 26, 1923, a son of the late J.D. and Zettie Gibson Maxwell.
Mr. Maxwell attended Emmanuel College and Piedmont College and received his master’s degree in education from the University of Georgia. He was an educator in Madison County, where he was a teacher and principal and served as Superintendent of Schools for four years. In Franklin County, Mr. Maxwell was principal at Canon and was principal at Franklin County Middle School, where he retired after 14 years of service.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of Mill Shoal Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Maxwell was also a member of the Royston Masonic Lodge #52. 
His wife was the late Evelyn J. Phillips Maxwell.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Maxwell was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Maxwell, and a brother, Charles Maxwell.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, at Mill Shoal Baptist Church with the Revs. Randy Smith, Dewitt Waters and Kenneth Vanderford officiating. Entombment was in Franklin Memorial Gardens, South. Steve Crowe, Kevin Phillips, Jesse Garrett, Leon Berryman, Alton Norris and Sammy McGaha served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Barton and Buster Berryman, Mill Shoal Baptist Church deacons.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Parham, Royston; four grandchildren, Kip Parham, Brett Parham and Carrie Brown, all of Royston, and Matt Parham, Toccoa; two great-grandchildren, Rachel Brown, Royston, and Lucas Parham, Toccoa; and one sister, Jane Wollmann, Lavonia.

Anna V. Nash
Mrs. Anna V. Nash, 80, of Athens, died Sunday, January 13, 2002.
A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Nash was a daughter of the late Leon and Jennie Chandler Lester.
She was a retiree of Dairy Pak Corp., with 33 years of service, and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Nash was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown Nash.
A private service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Tom Lang officiating.
Survivors include one son, Joe Nash Sr., Athens; two sisters, Ann Burroughs, Hull, and Jane Drake, Stone Mountain; one brother, A.J. Lester, Athens; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Bridges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eugene Anglin
Eugene Anglin, 61, of Winterville, died Saturday, January 12, 2002.
A native of Newton County, Mr. Anglin was a son of the late Clarence J. and Frances Ozella McCullers Anglin.
He had made his home in Winterville since 1971, where he served as a former city councilman. Mr. Anglin was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A private memorial service was held.
Survivors include three children, Christine Perkins, Athens, David Anglin, Flowery Branch, and Jeff Anglin, Statham; three sisters, Sara Carney, Hull, Jeanette White, Eastanollee, and Iva Ruth Criswell, Cave Springs; one brother, Bobby Anglin, Covington; and three grandchildren, Trevor, Kelly and Kathryn Anglin.
Memorials may be made to the Athens Area Humane Society, 339 Beaverdam Road Ext., Athens, GA 30605.

B.R. Simmemon
B.R. Simmemon, 75, of Demorest, died Monday, January 14, 2002, at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on April 12, 1926, Mr. Simmemon was a son of the late William and Rosie Parker Simmemon.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, and was retired from Stovall Tractor. Mr. Simmemon was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #7720 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Owen, Ray, Lamar and Ernest Simmemon.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Rev. Clyde Garrison officiating. Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Simmemon is survived by his wife, Mary Gerrell Simmemon, Demorest; two daughters, Brenda McKay, Cameron, N.C., and Betty Allen, Danielsville; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Martha M. Miller
Mrs. Martha Mazelle Dye Miller, 77, of Nicholson, died Thursday, January 10, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Miller was born May 26, 1924, in Oglethorpe County, a daughter of the late Emory W. and Susie Moore Dye.
She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Howard Rhodes and David Strickland officiating. Burial was in Howington Cemetery, Nicholson.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, Grady Miller, Nicholson; one son, Michael Miller, Nicholson; three daughters, Regina Adams and Elaine Highfield, both of Commerce, and Janice Manus, Nicholson; one sister, Brady Sue Coile, Winterville; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
