A native of Madison County, Talmadge was a son of Aleta Smith Nalley and the late Talmadge Barry Maxey. He was a member of Carlton Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Carlton Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug Ivey and Thomas Deal officiating. Burial was in Old Fork Cemetery. Members of the Rebel Ryders 4-Wheeler Club served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Madison County 4-H BB Team. Mrs. Jordan was born in Madison County, a daughter of the late Homer Jackson and Mary Nelia Fitzpatrick. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Jordan was an Auxiliary member of VFW Post 2877, Athens. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Dayton Logan and Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. A native of Marion, Ky., Mr. Conyer was a son of the late Roy and Vitula Jennings Conyer. He served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Michigan Consolidated Gas Company. Mr. Conyer was also an employee of Whispering Pines Golf Course for 10 years and was of the Baptist denomination. Segars Mrs. Mary Lou Segars, 82, of Baldwin, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at Alzheimer’s Care of Commerce. Mrs. Segars was born October 1, 1919, in Towns County, a daughter of the late J.A. and Gertrude Ledford Rogers. She was a former school teacher at Gillsville Elementary School and was a member of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church. Mrs. Segars was preceded in death by her husband, Carson Segars, and a son, Stanley Segars. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Gene Todd and Marshall Dale officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Flat United Methodist Church cemetery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired lineman with Westinghouse. Mr. Hooper was a member of Joy Baptist Church. Floyd, 82, of Comer, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at his home. Mr. Floyd was born in Joetown, W.Va., on February 12, 1920, a son of the late Lawrence and Effie Hoy Floyd. He was a U.S. Army retiree who served in Germany during World War II, served in Korea and taught at West Point Military Academy. Mr. Floyd was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Chambers Floyd, and a daughter, Ella Hull. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Mel Hegwood officiating. Burial was in the Meadow Baptist Church cemetery. She was retired from 1st American Home Health Care Agency and was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 25, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Steve Bolin, Bob Painter, Tony Taylor, David Painter, Wesley Nash, Bill Sims, Wayne Faglier and Johnny Adams served as pallbearers.
