O’Quinn George Wilburn O’Quinn, 65, of Danielsville, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Peachtree Hospice, Duluth. Mr. O’Quinn was born in Birmingham, Ala., on March 8, 1937, a son of the late John George and Mildred Whitton O’Quinn. He served in the U.S. Navy prior to joining the National Weather Service, retiring after 38 years. Mr. O’Quinn was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Danielsville, serving as Sunday School Superintendent prior to his illness. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Lee Burket O’Quinn. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Guest and Dr. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jean O’Quinn, Danielsville; two daughters, Sharon Kaye Smith, Auburn, and Cathy Elaine O’Quinn Horton, Winder; four step-daughters, Robyn Dean and Alice Harper, both of Danielsville, Vicki Drake, Comer, and Donna Gallaway, Homer; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brock Mrs. Edna Robinson Brock, 71, of Lula, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Brock was born March 28, 1931, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Harrison and Minnie Whitlock Robinson. Mrs. Brock was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills, with 11 years of service, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church. Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Brock. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with the Revs. Perry Smith and Melvin Baugh officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Grace Jones, Cornelia, and Lois Spink, Turnerville; one son, Hoyt Brock, Danielsville; one brother, Grady Robinson, Maysville; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A native of Madison County, Mr. Manley was a son of the late Alexander and Grace Kelly Manley. He had lived in the Danielsville area most of his life. Mr. Manley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Simpson Manley, and a daughter, Linda A. Evans. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Tim Peek officiating. Myran Cecil Jarrard, 64, of Eastanollee, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at the VA Hospital in Decatur of an extended illness. A native of Hall County, the Rev. Jarrard was a son of the late William Kenny and Grace Crowe Jarrard. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired from the Ferro Corporation, Toccoa. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Gordon Baptist Church with the Revs. Gerald Roach and Earl Jarrard officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. McGinnis Mrs. Selena Morgan McGinnis, 76, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at her residence. Mrs. McGinnis was born July 12, 1925, in Newberry County, S.C. She was a daughter of the late T.A. and Selma Bridges Morgan. Mrs. McGinnis was retired from General Times and was a member of Wesley Chapel Community Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Wesley Chapel Community Church with the Revs. Wayne Douglas and Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a poultry farmer and brick mason and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Carter was a son of the late Ernest Davenport and Sally Carter. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was an automobile mechanic. Mr. Carter was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. France Hubbard, Habersham Bell and Gregory Roseboro officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Mattie Carter; several children raised in the home; and nieces and nephews.
