Mrs. Miller was born in Shelby, Ala., on October 30, 1929. She was a daughter of the late Jess and Molly Simmons Brown. Mrs. Miller worked as a poultry farmer and was an active member of Bethel M. Baptist Church, where she previously served as a Sunday School teacher and as Church Secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Miller, a great- grandson, Austin Miller, and a brother, Herbert Brown. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6, at Bethel M. Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Sarna and Kenneth Segars officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Jeff Dalton, Herschel Dalton, Ralph House, Randy Watson and Billy Bell served as pallbearers. Survivors include two sons, Ed Miller, Comer, and David Miller, Danielsville; three brothers, Pete Brown, Danielsville, Billy Brown, Sumter, S.C., and Henry Brown, Colbert; two sisters, Eva Ruff, Ninety-Six, S.C., and Hilda Heaton, Danielsville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bond was the daughter of Thelma Louise Roberts Pearson, Athens, and the late Robert Elco Pearson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Revs. Hulon Hill and Johnny Ray officiating. Colquitt Miss Angela Diane Colquitt, 40, of Virginia Beach, Va., died Friday, December 5, 2003. Miss Colquitt was a native of Clarke County. Born November 3, 1924, in Jackson County, Mr. Palmer was a son of the late James Frank and Clara Belle Howington Palmer. He was a retired construction worker and a member of Nicholson Congregational Holiness Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Howard Rhodes and Marty Smith officiating. Burial was in the Nicholson Cemetery. Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Frances Clark Palmer, Nicholson; son, James R. Born August 27, 1927, in Franklin County, Mrs. Green was a daughter of the late Walter Bartow and Sally Fannie Vickery Glenn. She was a homemaker and a member of Bold Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Green was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Andrew Glenn and Walter Pierce Glenn. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 13, in B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel of Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville, with the Revs. Stephen Horne and Harvey Boyd officiating. Mrs. Green is survived by a sister, Lennie Glenn Sessler, Alhambra, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Yang, 46, of Commerce, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at Grady Memorial Hospital. Mr. Yang was born July 15, 1957, in Loas, a son of the late Seu Yang and Kao Her Yang. He was a mechanical engineer with the United States Postal Service and was a member of Hmong Christian Alliance. Mr. Yang was also president of the Asian Community Service. Funeral services will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with XF Wang Chue Yang officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park, Marietta. Mr. Yang is survived by his wife, Phoua V. Born December 10, 1938, in Franklin County, Mr. Lunsford was a son of the late Lonnie and Annie Mae Hill McCollum Lunsford. He was employed as a general manager for 41 years with the Varsity Restaurants in Atlanta and Athens. Mr. Lunsford is survived by three brothers, Ernest and Jerry Lunsford, Carnesville, and Donald Lunsford, Greenwood, S.C.; two sisters, Faye Brown, Franklin Springs, and Mae Brown, Elberton; half-brother, Herman Lunsford, Jacksonville, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Lunsford was cremated. No funeral services will be held. Farmer Mrs. Mary Irene (Aunt Bay) Pittman Farmer, of Nicholson, died Monday, December 8, 2003, after an extended illness. Mrs. Farmer was born December 4, 1912, in Jackson County. She retired from Thomas Textile and was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. Mrs. Farmer was the last surviving child of the late Marion B. and Mary Stephens Pittman. She was preceded in death by 15 siblings. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Richard Cathy officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Larry Pittman, Billy Pittman, Greg Pittman, Brandon Pittman, Jerry Childs and Larry Farmer served as pallbearers. Mrs. Farmer is survived by her husband of 61 years, T. Crawford Farmer; and was beloved by a large number of nieces and nephews. She was connected with Davidson Department Stores for a number of years and was of the Methodist denomination. Waters, Athens, and Charlie F. Waters, Clarkesville; one sister, Florence Miller, Smyrna; three brothers, Ned Archer, Athens, Dean Archer, Monroe, and Jack Archer, Nicholson; two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews. Maxey Mrs. Mildred Hinesley Maxey, 86, of Watkinsville, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003. A native and lifelong resident of Oconee County, Mrs. Maxey was the daughter of the late Willie Rix and Mable House Hinesley. Following her retirement from Puritan Cordage Mill, she worked for Thaxton Turkey Farms and for Norge Village Laundromat. She was a member of Ashford Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Maxey was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Samuel Maxey, and a daughter, Hazel Crowe O’Connell. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with Mrs. Maxey’s grandson, Robert Whatley, and the Rev. Odell Elrod officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. John Prescott, Bobby Kinman, John Delay, Harold Townley, Reece Cooper and Eddie Shumate served as pallbearers.
