A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Richard and Pearl Queen Casey. She was the wife of the late Roy Estes Smith Sr. Mrs. Smith was a member of Christian Life Worship Center. She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Howard Smith. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 20, at Christian Life Worship Center with the Revs. John Ingham and Elmer Butler officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Mr. Pittard was born in Franklin County on March 19, 1956. He was a son of Mrs. Grace Vinson Pittard, Royston, and the late Fred C. Pittard. Mr. Pittard was a truck driver and attended Bluestone Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Wells Pittard. A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, in Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston, with the Rev. Bruce Kesler officiating. Born in Hart County on August 22, 1918, Mr. Bond was a son of the late Lonnie and Nora Teate Bond. He was a retired truck driver with Signal Delivery and was a member of Royston Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union. Mr. Bond was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bond, and a sister, Ruby Bond Garner. A native of Madison County, Mr. Anthony was a son of the late Clarence Young and Lessie Booth Anthony. He retired from Hannah Manufacturing Company, Athens, and from the Oglethorpe County Road Department and was a bus driver with the Oglethorpe County School System. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Meeting House Church, Crawford. Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Anthony and Fred Anthony, and two sisters, Janelle Simmons and Ruby Young. Mrs. Phillips was born March 3, 1907, in Madison County, daughter of the late Willis B. and Flossie Webb Fowler. She was a seamstress and attended Hannah’s Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, William Calvin Phillips, three sons, William C. Phillips, George Linton Phillips and Callie Phillips Jr., two brothers, Coil Alexander Fowler and Charles Edward Fowler, and three sisters, Tecora Fowler Royston, Lettie Martin and Collene Fowler. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, at Hannah’s Creek Baptist Church with Mrs. Ann Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Fleeman was born June 23, 1913. She was the daughter of the late Joe Bragg and Tillie Pearson Bragg, and the step-daughter of the late Lee Sartain Bragg. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Fleeman was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Fleeman, a daughter, Lottie Smith, and a son, Anthony Fleeman. Born in Franklin County on May 30, 1916, Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of the late Charles Robert and Lizzie Vickery Pierce. She was formerly employed as a dietitian with Emmanuel College and had worked as a caregiver. She was a member of New Franklin Christian Church. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Kinley Bennett, and three sisters, Helen O’Brien, Dot Hendrix and Nancy Smith. Mrs. Carey was born August 25, 1927, in Franklin County. She was a daughter of the late Ralph Hart and the late Edna Hart Elrod. Mrs. Carey had worked as an inspector in the textile industry and was a caregiver for the terminally ill. She attended Price Chapel Church of God. Mrs. Carey was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Webb Carey, two grandsons, Chris Tucker and Rodney Alexander, and two sisters, Ruby Nell Monroe and Dessie Lou Kidd.
