A native of Cobb County, Ms. Patman was a daughter of the late D.A. Sloan Sr. and Dora Thrasher Sloan. She was an insurance auditor for the Federated Mutual Insurance Co. and was of the Baptist denomination. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Stewart Lang officiating. Burial was in the Comer Cemetery. Randy Sloan, Larry Pettit, Don Whitfield, Darrell Allen and Blane Epps served as pallbearers. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Hayes, Clover, S.C.; a son, Mark Jenkins, Danielsville; a sister, Thelma Pettit, Rock Hill, S.C.; a brother, D.A. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Colley was a son of the late Sanford Edward Colley and Mary Butler and the step-son of Edward “Bo” Butler, both of Watkinsville. He was retired from Dupont and was currently employed with the Athens Clarke County Water Department. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Wayne Powers officiating. Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park. Lindsey Mrs. Nancy Gertrude Lindsey, 83, of Colbert, died Saturday, July 26, 2003. A native of Toombs County, Mrs. Lindsey had lived in the Atlanta- Metro area for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer Lee Lindsey. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home. Fields William Cecil Fields, 87, of Comer, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003. A native of Madison County, Mr. Fields was a son of the late Tom and Lola Mae Epps Fields. He was the husband of the late Louise Chandler Fields and Eula Stephens Fields. Mr. Fields was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Fields’ nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Cheatham was born January 3, 1920, in Madison County, a son of the late Thomas Thurman and Lucy Fay McCurdy Cheatham. He was retired from Southern Mutual Insurance Company as an elevator operator and night watchman and was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church. Mr. Cheatham was preceded in death by a sister, Floye Burroughs, and two brothers, DeLos Cheatham and Billy Cheatham. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Peek officiating. Burial was in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Seymour was self-employed with Seymour & Son in Colbert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Elizabeth McCarty Seymour. Anglin Jesse Thurmond Anglin, 77, of Jefferson, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Anglin was born June 18, 1926, in Jackson County. He was a son of the late Jesse C. and Lois Greer Anglin. Mr. Anglin was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and worked in maintenance in the textile industry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Rebecca Adams Anglin, in 2000. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. Survivors include one son, Ostell Anglin, Jefferson; two brothers, Charles Anglin, Augusta, and Steve Anglin, Jefferson; one sister, Pat Henry, Nicholson; three grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. Barnette Elrige Cornelius Barnette, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003. Born February 19, 1909, in Comer, Mr. Barnette was the son of Ella Patterson Barnette and Homer Neal Barnette. After retiring from the Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas, Mr. Barnette and his wife, the late Martha Elizabeth Carmichael Barnette, returned to Georgia and settled in Athens. He was a member of Comer Baptist Church. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, in the Comer Cemetery with the Rev. Stuart Lang officiating. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Barnette Rusnak and Richard Rusnak, Dallas, Texas. Memorials may be made to Comer Baptist Church or to the Comer Cemetery Committee.
