Adams Miss Nellie Lee Adams, 90, of Danielsville, died Monday, February 3, 2003, at University Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Madison County on June 25, 1912, Miss Adams was the daughter of the late Charles Alfred and Ora Berrong Adams. She was retired from Mays Manufacturing and was a member of Moons Grove Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 7, in the Erastus Christian Church cemetery with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Miss Adams is survived by a brother, Gene Adams, Danielsville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce. A native of Mt. Airy, N.C., Mr. Hutchens was a son of the late Isaac and Lucy Sleming Hutchens. He was a retired bus driver and farmer and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Hutchens was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Marti Hutchens. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 7, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with Father Terry Kane officiating. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Martie M. Mrs. Teate was born in Hart County on June 28, 1913, a daughter of the late William Postel McConnell and the late Lousetta Craft McConnell. She was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Teate was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Alfred Teate, a daughter, Mary Louise Teate Dorsey, four brothers, Hoyt, Lonnie, Tommy and Hubert McConnell, and three sisters, Bell Bowen, Lena Childs and Myra Ashworth. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, at Ruhamah Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Larry Kaiser, Ron Bevins and Jimmy Wilson officiating. A native of Royston, Mrs. Maddox was a daughter of the late Lemuel Moses and Blanche Brown Ridgway. She was retired from Bell South, with 32 years of service, and was a member of Royston First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Bell South Pioneer Club. Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Maddox. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Bobby Anthony and Brian Clark officiating. Mr. Brown was born in Madison County on December 14, 1929, a son of the late George Washington Brown and the late Nobie Thompson Brown. He was a poultry farmer, plumber and electrician, and was of the Holiness denomination. Mr. Brown was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a son, Dwaine Brown, and three brothers, Julian, William and Jackson Brown. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 31, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Hugh Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens, South. Mitchell William Robert Mitchell, 85, of Commerce, died Monday, February 3, 2003, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Athens. Mr. Mitchell was born April 8, 1917, in Lee County, Fla. He was a son of the late Robert and Lois Swint Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a retired LP Gas serviceman and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce. He was also a member of Saints Alive, the American Legion and the Elks Lodge, of Ft. Myers, Fla. Mr. Mitchell was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 6, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. David Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Raney Mitchell, Commerce; a daughter, Martha Cartee, Commerce; and a niece, Anne Daves, Chuluota, Fla. Dove Dock Elmer Dove, 90, of Royston, died Monday, February 3, 2003. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Dove was a son of the late C.W. “Lum” and Jodie Langford Dove. He was employed with Candlewick Yarns for 34 years and was a member of New Hope Worship Center. Mr. Dove was preceded in death by his wife, Adell Walker Dove, and a daughter, Delcie Royston. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 6, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Dennis Kesler, James Gunn and Malcom Herndon officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Church cemetery. Mr. Dove’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include two daughters, Hollis Wadine Spratlin, Athens, and Bonnie Pinson, Snellville; three sons, Buddy Dove and Herman Dove, both of Danielsville, and Johnny Dove, Royston; one sister, Johnnie Roberts, Elberton; nine grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Boswell was a daughter of the late Andrew Echols Sr. and Harriett Echols. She was a homemaker and retired from Harmony Grove Mills. Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Boswell, two sons, Jewell and Larry Boswell, and a grandson, Chuck Boswell. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Burial was in Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville.
