Born: Madison County, Ga., April 8, 1911 Parents: Mary and William Hardman. Preceded in Death: parents, husband of 49 years, Sam E. Moon, seven brothers and four sisters. Former Resident: China Grove Member: First Baptist Church, China Grove, faithful nursery school teacher for 20 years. There she received the following honors: Christian Woman of the Year - 1990 and Nursery School Teacher - 1994. As a member of First Baptist Church of Mooresville for the past four years she was an active member of the Dorcas/T.E.L. Sunday School Class and the XYZ Organization. Survivors: one daughter, Betty M. Coone and husband Carl of Mooresville; one son, Billy J. Moon and wife Phyllis of Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, Thomas Hardman of Mooresville; seven grandchildren, Debbie C. Kolkebeck and husband Bruce, Crystal C. Dickerson of Greenville, S.C., Pam M. Lee of Va., Cynthia M. Ramsden and husband Steve of Davis Junction, Ill., Mike Moon and wife Denise of Ash Grove, Mo., Robin Moon and wife Gina of Winston Salem and Carroll Moon and wife Julie of Portsmouth, Va.; and 24 great-grandchildren. Services: First Baptist Church, Mooresville on Mrs. Moon's 92nd birthday, April 8, 2003, at 2 p.m. with Dr. E. Harvey Rogers and the Rev. Mark Pitts officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery, Concord. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
