The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. *********************************************************************** Kannapolis, North Carolina Independent Tribune Mrs. Ethel Power KANNAPOLIS -- Ethel Emma Cooper Power, 104, of 2007 Pennsylvania Ave., Kannapolis, died Sunday Feb. 2, 2003, at her daughter's home at 5391 Lynchburg Drive, Concord. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Gene Frady and Rev. Curtis Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. At other times they will be at 5391 Lynchburg Dr., Concord, the home of daughter Virginia Shuping. Born Feb. 13, 1898 in Madison County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Jonathan David Cooper and *Susan Hester Christian Cooper. She retired in 1976 from Cannon Mills Co. sheet department. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. She loved to paint, sew and make quilts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Power who died in 1976 and a son, James Doyle "J.D." Power. Survivors include five daughters, Frances Collins of Kannapolis, Elizabeth Watkins and husband, Louie of Concord, Betty Jo Troutman of Kannapolis, Mildred "Mickey" Watts and husband Ralph of Kannapolis, Virginia Shuping and husband Kenneth of Concord; a son, Charlie David Power of Kannapolis; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
