Born June 15, 1915, in Madison County, Ga., Mrs. James was a daughter of the late J. Pat and Loutisha Graham Crowe. She was employed with Cannon Mills Plant No. 1, Wash Cloth Department for 53 years until her retirement. She was a member of Centerview Baptist Church and had long been active in the local Democratic Party. She also was a member of the Young at Heart senior citizens group of Bethpage Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of Bethpage Home Extension. Her husband, Felton John James, died Dec. 3, 1978. A son, John Neal James, died in 1992. Survivors include sons Norris J. and Billy M. James, both of Kannapolis; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. today, Whitley's Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Willie Rash. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: 2-3 p.m. today, at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Norris James, 4709 Boy Scout Camp Road.
