He was born in Jackson County on November 13, 1950, and was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Viola (Parker) Elrod. He was employed at the University of Georgia Physical Plant, was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Towsend Elrod, Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Ashley Elrod, Commerce; daughter and son-in- law, Monica and Steven Evans, Commerce; two brothers, D.W. “Shorty” Elrod, Watkinsville, and Danny Elrod, Jefferson; one sister, Mary Jean Strickland, Commerce; and two granddaughters, Ensley Evans and Eve Fisher, both of Commerce. He was a paramedic in Franklin and Hall Counties and was a member of the Redwine United Methodist Church. He was also a former Franklin County Coroner, a member of the Royston Volunteer Fire Department, Hartwell Airport Authority, and a Talladega Motor Speedway Paramedic. Delma Bellew Delma Curtis Bellew, 88, died August 10, 2004. Born in Clarke County, he was the son of the late John Carmichael and Nora Barber Bellew. He attended Berry School for Boys and was a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Agriculture. A longtime resident of Madison County, he was a farmer and worked with the Farm Bureau in providing electricity to the county in the 1950’s. He was a charter member of Sanford Mens Club, a United States Navy veteran of WWII and retired from Railway Express. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Bellew; children, John and June Minish Bellew and J.R. and Helen Dalton Bellew, all of Nicholson, Sceva and W. Jack Glenn and Tommy and Peggy Mealor Seay, all of Hull; sister, Lorene Reynolds, Lexington; eight grandchildren; and 4 great- grandchildren. He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company and a member of the Masons and a Shriner. Mr. Norton lived in Athens for many years where he retired as a banker from C&S Bank, now known as The Bank of America. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WWII and was a member of the American Legion, Athens. Mr. Norton was a Protestant.
