White Mrs. Thelma Ruth White, 75, of Danielsville, died Monday, March 15, 2004, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include five sons, Junior White, Ila, James P. White, Loganville, and R.L. White, David White and Danny White, all of Danielsville; one daughter, Vivian Shumaker, Homer; four brothers, J.B. Montgomery, Winder, Claude Montgomery, Madison, Douglas Montgomery, Atlanta, and Gene Montgomery, Maysville; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ivie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ------------------------------------------ The Madison County Journal, March 17, 2004 Allene Elizabeth Perry Ramsey Allene Elizabeth Perry Ramsey, 88, of Commerce, formerly of Hull, died March 11, 2004. Mrs. Ramsey was born in Jackson County on October 10, 1915. Her parents were the late Luke H. and Mellie McElreath Perry. Her husband was the late Joe E. Ramsey, Sr. Mrs. Ramsey retired from Superior Pants and was a member of Erastus Christian Church. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Alton and Charlotte Ramsey, of Danielsville, and son and daughter-in-law, Joe Ervin and Janice Ramsey, of Commerce, and four grandchildren: Stephen Green and Christopher Ramsey and Jordan and Erin Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey was the oldest of 15 children. A sister, Annie Mills, and two brothers, Odell Perry and C. W. Perry, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sisters, Isbell Bridges, Martha Black and Grace Robertson, and eight brothers, Ambus Perry, Guy Perry, L. G. Perry, Earl Perry, James Perry, Robert Perry, Lamar Perry and Henry G. Perry. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Erastus Christian Church. Revs. Terry James, Carl Beckham, and Tim Garrett were in charge of services with interment in Erastus Christian Church cemetery. Missler Mrs. Grace Lucille Bohnstedt Missler, 78, of Houston, Texas, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004. Mrs. Missler was born February 10, 1926, in Delaware, Ind., to the late Henry and Hazel Dillon Bohnstedt. She grew up in Madison County. Mrs. Missler was a retired seamstress and was of the Methodist denomination. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Murphy. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Roger Lingerfelt officiating. Mrs. Missler is survived by her children, Steve and Linda Missler, Houston, Texas, Stanley and Jill Missler, Maysville, Marsha and Raymond Potts, Nicholson, and Joy Missler; brothers, Howard Bohnstedt, Islamorida, Fla.; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Hilley Nelson Ridgeway Hilley, 58, of Nicholson, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Hilley was born in Franklin County on December 6, 1945. He was a son of Dora Darline Potterfield Hilley, Danielsville, and the late Wilburn Hilley. Mr. Hilley was a truck driver and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Stowers officiating. Burial will be in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Anglin was born December 9, 1939, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Joe Brown and Lorene Smith Mathis. She was employed as the office manager for Billy Cain Ford and was a member of Unity Christian Church, Maysville. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Unity Christian Church with Minister Mike Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Anglin is survived by her husband, Jimmy Anglin, Maysville; daughters, Cathy Davis, Sandy Davis, Jimmie Elrod and Susan Redmon, all of Maysville; brothers, Charles Mathis, Danielsville, and James Mathis, Commerce; sister, Elizabeth Duncan, Commerce; eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Taylor Mrs. Lucy Ophelia Gaines Taylor, 96, of Colbert, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late Pierce and Lula Ward Gaines. She was the wife of the late Charlie C. Taylor, and was preceded in death by a son, Robert F. Taylor, and a sister, Ruby Gaines Moore. Mrs. Taylor was a former school teacher and was a homemaker. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include a sister, Lettie Gaines Hudson, Stone Mountain; two brothers, Paul Gaines, Tifton, and Rabun Gaines, Jeffersonville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. A native of Madison County, Mr. Black was a son of the late William Cleveland and Lerlean Hix Black. He was a welder and retired from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation after 32 years of employment. Mr. Black was also a master barber and watchmaker and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and the United States Navy. He attended the First Assembly of God of Athens. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Milford Addison, Walter Singletary and B.J. Moffett and Dr. David McCann officiating. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Rodney Black, Dale Perry, Dan Lloyd, Jerald Cleghorne, Lendon Fowler and Bill Sartain served as pallbearers. Brake Ralph Gene Brake, 65, of Commerce, died Sunday, March 14, 2004. Mr. Brake was born in Jackson County on October 14, 1938, to the late Bert and Pauline Mealor Brake. He was the retired general manager of Alltel Corporation and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce. He was also a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class, the Coachman Crackers Camping Club, past member of the Commerce Jaycees and the Athens Area Walk to Emmaus. Mr. Brake was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and James Brake, and two sisters, Brenda Perry and Rachel Underwood. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the First United Methodist Church of Commerce with the Revs. David Bowen and Dennis Wilbanks officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Mr. Brake is survived by his wife, Linda Jones Brake, Commerce; daughters and sons-in-law, Sonya and Dave Snyder, Cary, N.C., and Starla and Brad Klugh, Commerce; sisters, Kathy Cummings and Ina Ruth Brake, both of Commerce, and Mary Frances Sailors, Macon; three grandchildren, Jade Klugh, Commerce, and Lauren Snyder and Lindsey Snyder, Cary, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
