Tommy Cobb Tommy Wayne Cobb, 45, Canon, died July 6, 2004, at Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston. Mr. Cobb was born in Franklin County, June 4, 1959, the son of the late Winfred Cobb and the late Lessie Hilda Carter Chappell. He was a textile worker and of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Edwin Cobb and Mack Cobb. Survivors include brothers Harold Cobb and Dan Cobb, both of Canon, David Chappell, Carnesville; Sisters, June Segars, Hartwell, Judy Cobb, Canon, Jackie Frye, Lawrenceville, Peggy Brown, Royston, and Doris Vickery, Lavonia. Laneita Bryant Laneita Ann Ballew Bryant, 72, Dewy Rose, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston. Mrs. Bryant was born in Elbert County, September 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Lee Thomas and Frances Glovena Williams Ballew. Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Jack Ballew, and one sister, Hazel Shock. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Bryant, Dewy Rose; sons, Stanley Bryant, Johnny Bryant and Danny Bryant, all of Dewy Rose; daughter, Wanda Bryant, Dewy Rose; sisters, Marilyn Treadway, Hull and Pat Whitfield, Homer; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Friday, July 9, 2004, at the Pruitt Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Don Scott and Williard Crider officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Buddy Moon Buddy Darrell Moon, 43, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Moon was born in Franklin County on March 20, 1961, a son of the late Darrell Aubrey Moon and Rebecca House Hemrick. He was employed as a truck driver and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Mr. Moon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Aubrey and Leotice Moore Moon, and his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Tildie Human House. Survivors include a son, Brent Moon, Dewy Rose; daughter, Krystle Moon, Dewy Rose; brothers, Lanier Moon and David McElroy, both of Danielsville; and sisters, Wanda Shackelford, Danielsville, and Christy Hardeman, Winterville. Mrs. Segars was born in Franklin County October 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Seaborn and Bertha Duck Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Canon Church of God. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Segars. Bill Head Willie “Bill” Head, 77, of the Red Hill community of Carnesville, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston. Born Aug. 11, 1926, in Franklin County, he was the son of Will and Jane Dove Hill. He was the brother of the late Flossie Thomas, Addie Cape, Alline Pulliam, Hoke Hill, Bird Hill, Howard Hill, Arthur Hill, Sam Hill and Woodrow Hill. He was a farmer and had retired from Trogdon Furniture Company and Toccoa Casket Company. He was a member of the Middle River Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Turpin Hill, Red Hill; three step-sons, Daniel Hallford, Mobile, Ala., Jack Hallford, Martin, and Perry Hallford, Toccoa; one step-daughter, Elaine Ward, Red Hill; one sister, Katie Lou Clark, Flowery Branch; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Langston was the wife of the late Joseph Clifford Langston and the daughter of the late John Andrew and Annie Belle Greer Jordan. She was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church and a retired textile worker. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Kevin Williams and Chad Langston. Survivors are sons and daughters-in-laws, Randall and Betty Langston, Commerce, Michael and Cathy Langston, Athens; daughters and sons-in-laws, Phyllis and Ronnie Seymour, Commerce, Linda and Leon Williams, Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Lucille Saxon, Lumberton, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
