Moore Mrs. Susie G. Moore, 57, of Ila, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004. A native of Taylor County, Mrs. Moore was a daughter of the late Addis B. and Eula Alberitton Gordy. She was employed with CSRA Private Duty Home Health Care in Washington, Ga., and was of the Baptist denomination. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Joey Whitlock officiating. Burial was in the Colbert City Cemetery. Bill Cannon, Benny Cannon, Richard Hatfield, Mike Oldroyd, Tony Tucker and Ronald Gordy served as pallbearers. Ward, 91, of Commerce, died Friday, April 30, 2004. The Rev. Ward was born May 28, 1912, in Crisp County, the son of the late Robert Lee Ward and the late Mamie Sarah McGiboney Ward. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Pearl Cowan Ward. The Rev. Ward was a Baptist minister. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Chad Payne officiating. Burial followed at 2 p.m. in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, DeKalb County. William DeLee, Kevin Jording, Derrick DeLee, Bobby DeLee, William Andrews and Marshall Kenney served as pallbearers. Mrs. Coile was preceded in death by three sisters, Geneva Martin, Virginia Dixon and L.E. Coile. Mr. Swensen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on January 8, 1914. He was the son of the late Monard and Bertha Swensen. Mr. Swensen was a retired banker and a member of the Church of Christ in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Korik Swensen, a daughter, Andrea Kathleen Roberts, and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston. She retired from Ila Elementary School and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Lord, and a daughter, Trudie Collins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
