Hugh Abernathy Rites

   Hugh Doyle Abernathy, 1321 E. Rocksprings Rd., Atlanta, died Wednesday in 
Decatur.
   Born in Madison County, he had lived in Atlanta for a year.
   The funeral was held Friday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with 
the Rev. Rufus Rowland and the Rev. W. C. Hudson Jr. officiating.  Burial was 
in the church cemetery.
   Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Reba Abernathy, Augusta; two sisters, 
Mrs. Turdy Wood, Anderson, S.C.; and Mrs. Betty Gates, Blythe; and 10 nieces 
and nephews.
   Pallbearers were Carl Gunnells, Ray Brooks, Gerald Gunnells, Freddie Hunt, 
Douglas Abernathy and Joe Lindsey.
