Abernathy Rites Held

  Joseph Hayden Abernathy, 88, died Friday morning at Cedar Hills Nursing Home 
after a short illness.
   Mr. Abernathy was born in Mecklingburg County, N. C.  He was a former mayor 
of Danielsville and was a retired GI teacher.  He was a member of the 
Danielsville Baptist Church.
   Funeral services were held last Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Danielsville 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny M. Tucker and Rev. A. E. Logan 
officiating.  Burial was in the new Danielsville Cemetery.
   Mr. Abernathy is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha Keterman Abernathy; two 
daughters, Mrs. D. C. Baker of Danielsville and Mrs. F. J. Meadow of 
Willmington, Del,; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
