W. L. Abernathy Rites

   Willie Lambert Abernathy, 60, of 2227 Hollis Rd., Augusta, Ga., died there 
Sunday following an extended illness.
   Services were held Tuesday at 4 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church 
in Madison County, with the Rev. Ronald Peoples officiating.  Burial was in the 
church cemetery.
   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Reba Gunnells Abernathy; a son, Doyle 
Abernathy of Augusta; two daughters, Mrs. Bobby Deats of August and Mrs. 
William Wood of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren;  three brothers, 
George Scott Abernathy and Marvin Abernathy, both of Gainesville and Aler S. 
Abernathy of Athens; three sisters, Miss Ruby B. Abernathy of Pass Christian, 
Miss., Mrs. O. A. Ward of Gainesville and Mrs. J. H. Brooks of Bowman and 
several nieces and nephews.
