J. D. Baker Rites

   James Dabney Baker, 65, of the Cromers Mill Community, died at his home 
Wednesday. 
   Mr. Baker was born in Madison County, a son of the late James F. and Lillian 
Dye Baker.   He was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church and a merchant.
   Survivors:  widow, Mrs. Lucy Chandler Baker; one daughter, Mrs. Hugh Edwin 
Phillips of Royston; two brothers, Doris C. Baker of Danielsville and John 
Thomas Baker of Athens; two sistes, Mrs. James Wade and Mrs. L. G. Humphrey, 
both of Commerce; one granddaughter, Miss Daphne Phillips of Royston.
   Funeral services were held Thursday at 5: 30 p.m. at Trinity Methodist 
Church with the Revs. Dan Fuller and Ben Sorrell officiating.  Burial was in 
the church cemetery.
   Pallbeareres:  Marvin and Chandler Baker, Loyd Humphrey, Marion Slaton, 
Russell Slaton, George Slaton.
