MR. W. W. BARNETT DIED, FUNERAL HELD LAST TUESDAY

   Funeral services were held last Tuesday afternoon at the Colbert Baptist 
Church for Mr. W. W. Barnett who died in an Athens Hospital last Friday after 
several weeks’ illness.
   Mr. Barnett was 85 years of age and was one of Madison County's best known 
citizens.   He was a native of Madison County and had spent his entire life in 
the County.  He was a mason and a member of the Colbert Baptist Church.
   Mr. Barnett is survived by five daughters, Mrs. J. O. Hix, Athens; Mrs. C. 
P. Keever, Charleston, S. C.; Mrs. C. W. Porterfield, Colbert; Mrs. J. B. 
Linker, Lake Linder, Mich.; Mrs. J. W. Stallings, Harrisburgh, N. C.; 
three sons, J. C. Barnett, and W. W. Barnett, Jr., both of Colbert, and J. D. 
Barnett, Los Angeles, Calif; twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-one great 
grandchildren.
