Will D. Barnette Rites

   Will d. Barnette, 76, of Rt. 1, Comer, died Wednesday in a local hospital 
following an extended illness.  He was a lifelong native of Madison County.

   The funeral was Friday at 3 p.m. at the Meadow Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Ben Haygood officiating.  Burial was in the Church cemetery.

   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Docia Barnette of Comer; two daughters, 
Mrs. Hazel George of Smyrna and Mrs. Margaret Power of Comer; three 
sons, Will Ed Barnette of Marietta, John H. Barnette of Cornelia and Kenneth 
H. Barnette of Comer; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephew
