A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Jones and Azzie Lee Smith Dye. She was a homemaker, charter member of the Clarke County Home Demonstration Club, and charter member of Oconee Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Bentley. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Joyce Bentley, Jefferson; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and George Bost, Melbourne, Fla., and Judy and Jerry Whidby, Urbanna, Va.; sister, Lee Fowler, Athens; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 17, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Crist Camden officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
