Sara L. Bond, 78, of Canon, died Thursday, November 25, 2004, at Athens 
Regional Medical Center, Athens.

Born February 26, 1926, in Anderson, S.C., she was the daughter of the late 
R.F. Locke and Ophelia Partain Locke. She was a retired paraprofessional for 
the Hart County School System, where she served for 27 years at the Eagle Grove 
Elementary School. She was a former member of the Redwine Home Demonstration 
Club and a member of the Hartwell First Baptist Church. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Willis Franklin Bond.

Survivors include her sons, Sonny Bond, Royston, Bobby Bond, Colbert, and David 
Bond, LaGrange; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 27, in the chapel of Strickland 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Kelly officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Hart 
Memorial Park.  Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell was in charge of 
arrangements.
