Bond Dead On last Friday at three o'clock occurred the death of Mr. Joe L. Bond at his home near town after a long and protracted illness which had confined him to his home and bed. Though his body was racked with pain, yet he bore his suffering with much patience, exercising that genuine faith in Him who doeth all things right and for the best. He was a member of the Methodist church here and lived as best he could as his Heavenly Father would have him live. Having spent his life in Madison county he had a number of friends whose confidence and esteem he enjoyed. He is survived by his widow who was Miss Mary Porterfiled, two daughters: Mesdames Onnie Turner and Mitchell Smith, all of Danielsville; step mother, Mrs. H__ Bond, of Royston; four brothers; Russell Bond, Danielsville, John and Lonnie Bond, of Royston and Oscar Bond, of Florida; six sisters, Mrs. Tyner nad Mrs. H. G. Carithers, of Danielsville; Mesdames Bonnie Carithers, Minnie Graham, Ewell Tyner and Gordon Ray of Royston. The body was interred at Meadow Church Cemetery Saturday afternoon, his pastor, Rev. H. G. Greene, assisted by Rev. J. S. Grimes conducting the services with J. Alvin Baker as funeral director for Bernstein Bros.
