    Obituary for Joe Brooks                         

Obituary:   Comer - Joe Brooks, 74, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at his 
residence. 

Born in Madison County, he was the son of the late George T. and Gussie 
Scogins Brooks. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his 
brothers and sisters: Gordon Brooks, Hoyt Brooks, Bertha Mae Brooks and Laura 
Bell Pullian. He was a farmer and Insurance Division Manager. 

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Kloma J. Brooks; children and their 
spouses: Debbie and Godfrey Channell, George and Jane Brooks; brothers: Robert 
T. Brooks, James R. Brooks; sister: Patsy Standridge; four grandchildren: Trey 
and Renae Compton, Dylan Brooks, Savannah Channell, Matthew Brooks and also 
many other children who thought of Mr. Brooks as a father. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 3PM at Lord & Stephens 
Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Glen Guest officiating. Burial will follow at 
Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Alex Hand, Cory Clements, 
Stan Maxwell, Jimmy T. Compton, Fred Martin, Mike Pullian, Darwin McGee and 
James McGee. 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer 
Society. 

The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 to 9 at the funeral home
