MRS. BURCKHALTER PAID LAST TRIBUTE


   Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Irene Burckhalter, widow of Dr. W. M. 
Burckhalter, were held at noon tuesday in Trinity Chapel, Atlanta, the Rev. A. 
D. Couch, Pastor of the Indian Springs Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial 
was in Comer.  Mrs. Burckhalter died Monday at the residence, 617 Parkway 
Drive, northeast, Atlanta.
   Daughter of the late Dr. William Tabb, of Beach Island, S. C., she married 
Dr. Burckhalter, of Oglethorpe County in May, 1896, and moved to Comer, where 
he was a practicing physician until his death in 1930.  Mrs. Burckhalter then 
came to Atlanta to make her home with her children.  She was a member of the 
Baptist Church of Comer and had many warm friends throughout this section.
   Surviving are three daughters:  Mrs. J. L. Williams and Miss Lueweene 
Burckhalter, of Atlanta and Mrs. C. L. Vaughn, of Hamlet, N. C.; one brother, 
H. C. Tabb of Savannah; one sister, Mrs. W. B. Brigham of Augusta; a sister-in-
law.Mrs. Maude Tabb, of Jacksonville, Florida.
