T. S. Burroughs, 78, died at his residence in Colbert Wednesday morning at 5:30 o'clock after an illness of two and a half years. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence in Colbert, Rev. Frank Chandler officiating. Interment will be in Morris cemetery, McDoman-Bridges in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Ellis Sorrow, Clyde Morris, Lloyd Bray, Clarence Williams, Truit Williams and Bob Thompson. Surviving Mr. Burroughs are his wife: Mrs. T. S. Burroughs, Colbert; two daughters, Miss Emma Burroughs, Colbert, and Mrs. M. M. Cannon, Keysville, Ga.; son, T. A. Burroughs, Hull; two sisters, Mrs. Lida Towns, Winterville and Mrs. Linnie Sorrow, Colbert; three brothers, D. I. Burroughs, Hull; B. J. Burroughs, Colbert and George Burroughs. Eleven grandchildren also survive him. A native of Madison county, Mr. Burroughs had spent most of his life there. For the past two-and-a-half years Mrs Burroughs had been in failing health. Although not confined to bed, he was unable to look after his farm. He leaves a large circle of friends who will be saddened by his death. His family is one of the best known in Madison County.
