Born in Jackson County, Mrs. Burroughs was a daughter of the late Luther James and Fannie McGinnis Minish. She was a self-employed beautician and was the owner of Swamp Guinea Restaurant in Colbert. Mrs. Burroughs was a member of Colbert Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Rudy Burroughs Jr. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, January 10, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Erwin Goss officiating. Burial was in Colbert Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Christy Sharp, Daytona, Fla.; one sister, Polly Holcomb, Athens; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
