C. Burroughs Mr. William Clinton Burroughs aged 56, died at his home in Comer Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock, following a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock from New Hope Presbyterian church with the Rev. C. K. Taffee, Presbyterian minister in charge. Mr. Burroughs was born and reared in Madison County, and has countless friends who mourn his death. He was a man of few words, always genial and kind. He was a member of the prebyterian church. Interment was in New Hope cemetery, with Bernstein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Nephews will act as pallbearers. Mr. Burroughs is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Burroughs; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Clark, of Comer; one son, Andrew Burroughs, of Comer; six brother, Messers S. B., T. C. and J. M. Burroughs, all of Comer, Charlie Burroughs of Carlton, Roy and Eugene Burroughs, of Winterville; four sisters: Mrs. C. L. Smith, Mrs. J. C. Martin and Mrs. J. C. Wilson of Carlton and Mrs. Thurmond Kidd of Comer. Additional Comments: DOD estimated from issue date of paper and contents of obit. Tombstone only lists year.
