C. Campbell, living about two miles from town on the Racetrack road. Mr. Campbell had brought his little sister to town in his automobile to attend the Baptist Sunday School, and after they got out he came up to the public square and stopped in front of Davis' cafe to converse with some young men who had gathered there, and in a few minutes he staggered a little, but recovered and almost instantly staggered again and fell on the pavement immediately in front of the cafe. Seeing something was wrong, the other young men rushed to his assistance and laid him on a bench in front of the cafe and summoned Dr. Gholston, who came instantly and did all he could, but pronounced him dead in a few minutes. Mr. Campbell had been subject to some heart aff(li)ction for years and his death evidently resulted from that cause. He had been a resident of this community about two years, his father and family having come to our town from Ila. He was well known and highly esteemed by our people for his many noble traits of character. He was a member of the Methodist Sunday school and a student of Danielsville high school and was beloved by his classmates and companions. He was just 19 years old and gave fine promise for future usefullness, being a young man of bright and vigorous mind and strong moral character. The funeral was held at the Methodist church here and was conducted in a most appropriate and feeling manner by Rev. A. a. Sullivan, the pastor. The pall-bearers were chosen from his classmates and the body was deposited in the Danielsville cemetery. He is survived by his parents, two sisters and one brother, who have the hearty sympathy of this community in their sudden and terrible affliction.
