Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Meadow church with Rev. W. J. Nash officiating. Interment was in the Carithers family cemetery near Meadow Church. A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral, attesting the high esteem in which he was held. Mr. Carithers was a member of the Baptist church and lived a true Christian life. His upright dealings with his fellowman won for him many friends who were grieved to learn of his death. Although a sufferer for some time he was cheerful and considerate to those about him and he will be missed in the home and community. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Etta Hunt Carithers, seven children: Mrs. Ora Gault, Deering, A., Mrs. Bertie Care, Royston Ga.; Mrs. Nancy McElroy, J. A. Carithers, Spencer N. C.; Mrs. Ella Mae Beard, Danielsville, Ga; Mrs. Isabelle Sasser and Miss Callie Carithers of Kannapolis, N. C.; eighteen grandchildren and a large number of other relatives. C. N.
