W. JONAS CARITHERS DEAD Mr. William Jonas Carithers died at his home near here last Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. He had been in ill healthh for some time, however had been quite sick for some thing like a month, suffering intensely, but bearing it with patience. He was a man of great cheerfulness and practiced those wonderful characteristics of being kind and true to all which marked his life among his fellow men. He was a member of the Baptist church, his membership being at Meadow Church where he was active and always did his duty as he believed his Master would have him do. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Carithers, three daughters, Mesdames J. P. Turner, J. D. Patten and Miss Janie Carithers; three sons: D. C., James and Eugene Carithers; four brothers, Messers George, W. C., Lee and Homer Carithers; two sisters: Mrs. M. L. Simmons and Mrs. Collie Sorrells. He was interred at the cemetery at Meadow's church on Monday afternoon at three o'clock, his pastor, Rev. W. J. Spearman assisted by Rev. West officiating. Bernstein Bros. were the funeral directors.
