In all relations of life she was faithful and true; she loved her home and tried to make it comfortable and pleasant by administering kind deeds to all her family and those who might enter in. She was in all respects a kind, loving and sympathizing mother and a devoted wife, seeking opportunity to render service where it would make life worth while. In her Christian life she manifested a spirit of love toward her church by regular attendance and standing loyal to the cause which it represented. So we as a church and community at large feel that we have to suffer a great loss. Sister Carithers was one of the Master's servants which found respect and love in every one's life in which she came in contact; so the desire and prayers of her many friends is that God will comfort the feeble bodies and heal the broken hearts of all who loved her so well and help tem to find sustaining grace in the God she loved and trusted so much. Sister Carithers realized after toiling here on earth for eighty odd years that the conflict was drawing close to an end, and her race was nearly run; she responded readily to the call of her Master as He called her to the home not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens. She ended her journey here on earth and took her leave for the promised land, leaving the words of testimony that she had fought a good fight, she had finished the course, she had kept the faith, and she realized that there awaited her a crown that the Lord, the righteous judge would give her in that crowning day. So may the kind deeds and words done and spoken by her be the means of rejoicing in the hearts and memory of her many loved ones, and may they console their minds in thinking of the much sweeter place she has to spend eternity where there will be no more heartaches, no pains to bear, no crying, no dieing, and no more sad farewells; but joy, peace, and happiness with Christ, her Lord, thru the rolling ages of an endless day. Sister Carithers was born in Madison County May 13th 1849; she united in matrimony to Wm.Wiley Carithers Aug. 19th, 1868 and departed from this life Dec. 8, 1932, leaving seven children, 27 grandchildren, 24 great grand children and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. Whereas, God in His Wisdom has called this good woman home. Be it resolved-- First -- That members of her family have lost a good, loving and Christian mother. Second -- That Meadow Church has lost its oldest, beloved, and most helpful member, whose presence will missed, not only by the entire community in which she has lived since birth. Third -- That a copy of these resolutions be spread on the Church minutes, a copy be published in the county paper, and a copy be sent to each member of the family with whom we sympathize deeply in the loss.
