He was born on May 18, 1937, in Wilkesboro, N.C., and was the son of the late Ira Angus and Annie Belle Church. To his grandchildren he was known as “Daddy Clem”, and to everyone else, he was known as a man who truly lived life on his own terms, according to loved ones. Mr. Church was preceded in death by a brother, Garley Church; sister, Edith Canter; and several brothers-in-law; Survivors include his wife, Jewell Church; children and spouses, Denise and Doug Kesler, Colbert, Dree Church-Krohn and Todd, Athens, Clemoth and Samantha Church, Danielsville, Sharon Hudspeth Richardson and Jim, Texas, and Alden Burch, Lebanon, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Kayde and Megan Kesler, Jack and Luke Krohn, Maddie and Mac Church; brothers, sisters, and spouses, Ira and Aretta Church, Opal Minton, Oaklen and Tom Minton, Linda and Richard Owings, Nancy and John Waddell, Jerry and Martha Church; brother-in-law, Don Canter; sister-in-law, Joan Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 20, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Revs. Richard Owings and Morris Sapp officiating. Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers were nephews, Kirk Church, Richie Owings, Joey Minton, Larry Minton, Tim Waddell, Tim Bell, Brent and Bobby Holloway. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Hospice, P.O.
