John Milton Coile, 97, of Comer, died Monday, October 2, 2006, at the Cobb 
Memorial Hospital in Royston.

Born in Madison County on August 17, 1909, he was the son of the late James 
Gordon and Alice Ann Hill Coile. He was a farmer and a member of the Cedar 
Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Coile was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie 
Maxine Martin Coile; a grandchild, Charles Martin Coile; son-in-law, 
J.D. “Sonny” Hix; three brothers; and six sisters.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Martin “Buddy” and Jane Coile, 
Danielsville, and Ronnie and Dottie Coile, Comer; daughters and sons-in-law, 
Darlene and Frank Duncan, Betty Hix, Connie and Jerry Busby, all of Comer; 10 
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, in the chapel of Pruitt 
Funeral Home with the Revs. Jay Kieve and Robbie Brown officiating. Burial was 
in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law 
served as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of one’s choice.

Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
