DEATH SUMMONS MR. J.F. COLBERT

    Mr. J.F. Colbert, of Colbert, Ga., a very highly respected and esteemed 
citizen died very suddenly on last Saturday evening at his home.
    He was born and reared in this county, where he had spent his entire life, 
having lived to a ripe old age.
    For several years past he had been a consistent member of the Methodist 
church, contributing very largely to its causes.
    He had considerable farming interest over the county, to which he had 
devoted his entire time, besides having other large financial interests.
    He was laid to rest in the Colbert cemetery on last Monday, the funeral 
services being conducted by his pastor, Rev. M. K. Pattillo, assisted by Rev. 
W.M. Coile, of Winterville.  The very large crowd and immmense beautiful 
floral offering bespeak the wide circle of friends he enjoyed.
    He leaves a wife, Mrs. Minnie Colbert, and two daughters, Mrs. Miles 
Collier, of Colbert, Ga., and Mrs. W.C. Pitner, of athens, besides a host of 
other relatives and friends to mourn his death.
