William Alfred “Bill” Cornish, 69, of Danielsville, died Wednesday, December 
8, 2004.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he was born January 27, 1935, a son of the late 
William Joseph Cornish and Venus Marcellus Banfield. He was a veteran of the 
Korean War having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Cornish retired from 
the University of Georgia July 1999. He was preceded in death by a sister, 
Mary Ann Cornish.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Geraldine Lowry Cornish, Danielsville; 
son and daughter-in-law, William Jeffrey and Cindy Cornish, Neese; daughter 
and son-in-law, Mary Anne and Thomas Charlson, Watkinsville; and grandchildren 
John and Owen Cornish and Jake and Mark Charlson.

Memorial services were held Saturday, December 11, at Lord and Stephens 
Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Daniel D. Fuller officiating.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
