Mr. Collie Carithers Dies;
Funeral At Meadow

   Funeral services for Mr. R. C. Carithers, 65, who died suddenly of a 
heart attack about noon on December 28th, at his home in Royston,
were held from the Meadow Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Friday.
   The Rev. Eugene Pettyjohn conducted the service and burial was in the
church cemetery.  Pallbearers were Hal Compton, Grover Lord, Judge Epps, 
Richard Porterfield, Howard Parham and Mercer Carithers.
   He is survived by one son, Edwin Carithers, and four daughters: Mrs. 
W.H. Welborn, Royston; Mrs. Alma Parham, Comer; Mrs. Margaret Maddox,
Spartanburg, S.C.; Mrs. Mary Ann Little, Atlatna; three brothers, J.C. 
Carithers, 
Charlotte, N.C.; Buddy Carithers, of Maryland, and John Carithers, of Atlanta; 
five sisters, Mrs. Geneva Gunnin, College Park; Mrs. Herman Howard and
Miss Hilda Carithers, Atlanta; Mrs. W.E. Johnson, Comer, and Mrs. E.C.
Poole, Spartanburg, S.C.
