LIZZIE LANDERS DAVID Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Landers David, who died at her home Friday morning, January 15th were conducted by Rev. A. E. Logan Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from Meadow Baptist Church and interment was in Meadow cemetery with Bernstein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Grady King, Weyman Powers, Clifford Barnett, Lytton Moon, Dewey Power and A. L. Fleming. Surviving Mrs. David are: her husband, Mr. John M. David; two sons, Hoke David, Comer and Paul David of U. S. A. , Elgin field, Florida; three sisters: Mrs. Ella Hinton and Mrs. Lottie Carithers, both of Comer and Mrs. Bessie Long of Decatur; and three brothers, Claud, Leck, and Roscoe Landers. Mrs. David had been quite sick for several weeks, but her fine spirit of unselfishness and her indomitable will power kept her from giving up until the last. She was a woman of broad sympathies, pleasing personality and kind heart, who drew friends to her and retained their friendship. She was always about her Master’s business in rendering some service to others, and when her summons came her answer was: " I am ready to go! " Transcriber's Note: DOD obtained from tombstone.
